Hubballi: Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has strongly condemned Uttar Kannada MP Ananth Kumar Hegde for his recent remarks against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Hegde, in a public address held in Kumta on Saturday, used singular language targeting the CM.

Shettar expressed disapproval of the Union Minister’s use of rough language against the Chief Minister, stating that Hegde has lost all decency in politics. He emphasized the existence of a “Laxman Rekha” in politics, cautioning against its crossing. Shettar noted that Hegde is known for making such statements, deeming it unfortunate that he is personally attacking a democratically elected CM.

Condemning personal attacks on leaders like PM Modi or CM Siddaramaiah, Shettar emphasized the importance of statesmanship in political discourse. He criticized Hegde for lacking the acumen required for statesmanship and observed that Hegde’s inflammatory speeches have increased in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections. Shettar questioned Hegde’s absence in the last four and a half years and criticized his sudden activism.
